Chris Briney is a retired American soccer defender who played professionally in the United States and Europe. He represented the United States at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and was named to the Pan-American Games All-Tournament Team in 1995. Briney, who is originally from suburban Chicago, made his professional debut with the Tampa Bay Mutiny of the old MLS. He then moved to Europe, where he played for Werder Bremen, Fulham FC, and FC Troyes before retiring in 2003.
