It keeps your body protected against infections, especially during the winter season when colds are common. 2 Surprising Sources of Protein

There’s a common misconception that you can only get protein from meat. But, what most people don’t know is that there are actually two surprising sources of protein, which are: boiled milk and eggs. That’s right—getting enough protein in your diet isn’t as hard as you might think. In fact, it can be downright easy! Let us explain… First off, how much protein do we need? The answer to that question varies based on age and activity level. However, according to some research published by Harvard University, men need around 56 grams of protein per day (per kilogram body weight) while women need 46 grams per day (per kilogram body weight). While these numbers may seem high at first glance, they’re really not all that difficult to reach when you start paying attention to your intake levels throughout each day. For example, let’s say you consume about 2 liters of boiled milk each day (which has 30 grams of protein). You’ll easily reach your daily requirement in just one sitting! Another way to make sure you’re getting enough boiled milk every day is by pairing it with eggs.

3 How Can I Get Enough Calcium in My Diet?

Calcium is a mineral found in dairy products, such as milk and cheese. However, we can also find calcium in broccoli, spinach, tofu, and even dark chocolate. We need calcium because it builds our bones and helps them stay strong throughout our lives. If you don’t get enough calcium in your diet or if you are physically active, taking a supplement may be helpful. Check with your doctor first to make sure that it is safe for you to take extra calcium.  You should not take more than 1,000 milligrams (mg) of calcium per day without your doctor’s advice. Also, keep in mind that too much calcium can cause problems like kidney stones. You should try to eat foods high in calcium instead of taking supplements whenever possible.

4 What Happens if I Don’t Get Enough Vitamin D?

What if vitamin D is just, like, really important? How much vitamin D do I need in a day? You might need more than you think. You can get most of your daily intake by eating a healthy breakfast, drinking plenty of water, and getting 30 minutes to an hour of sunlight per day. If you aren’t quite there yet or want to be sure you’re maintaining optimal health levels, add some foods high in vitamin D to your diet.  Fortified milk and cereals are good sources. The U.S. Department of Agriculture says that adults should aim for 600 IU (international units) of vitamin D each day; kids ages 1 to 3 should have 400 IU; 4-to-8-year-olds should have 600 IU; 9-to-13-year-olds should have 800 IU; 14-to-18-year-olds should have 1,300 IU, and pregnant women should have 1,600 IU.

5 What Is Raw Milk and Should I Drink It?

Raw milk, also called fresh milk, is unprocessed and unpasteurized. It is a food that has not been exposed to temperatures high enough to kill harmful bacteria like Salmonella, E. coli, Listeria and Campylobacter. While it can be safely consumed by some people who are not at risk of developing serious diseases from these bacteria, it should never be given to babies or children younger than 12 months old. Raw milk may contain coliform bacteria such as enterococci and E. coli 0157:H7 which can cause serious intestinal disorders in young children.

6 Should You Eat Raw Cheese?

We’ve been taught since grade school that raw meat and eggs are bad for us, but dairy products have always been left off that list. And there’s a reason: our ancestors have been drinking milk from animals long before we were keeping them in pens and milking them twice a day. Raw milk is as natural as it gets—and, if you’re lucky enough to find some nearby, it’s also one of nature’s most flavorful beverages (hence why so many cultures make cheese out of it). The problem with raw milk, however, is that certain harmful bacteria can grow in it when not treated or cooked properly.
